In 2014, the St. Clare nuns of Trevi, Umbria — part of the Clarisse, a contemplative order founded by Saint Clare of Assisi in the 13th century — made a historic change. After centuries within the walls of their medieval convent in the heart of the city, they moved to a new, smaller monastery nestled among olive trees on a hillside outside the town. For the people of Trevi, this was a moment of deep significance. The community came together to accompany the sacred reliquary of Saint Clare from the old convent to the new, in a solemn procession marked by prayer, song, quiet tears, and heartfelt laughter. My reportage follows this journey, capturing a rare moment where centuries of spiritual tradition met the turning of a new chapter.
